Hello, I’m Adriana and today I want to share with you the story of my professional journey, a journey that took me from the depths of oceanography to the richness of the alternative psychoterapy. . Although it may seem like a drastic leap, every step of my career has been guided by my passion for understanding and helping others, whether through science or emotional support.
My adventure began in Mexico City, where I studied Physics at UNAM. The fascination with natural phenomena led me to further my studies in the United Kingdom, where I obtained a PhD in Physical Oceanography at the Southampton Oceanography Centre. My work took me to Germany, to the Alfred Wegener Institute in Bremerhaven, and later to the Center for Tropical Marine Ecology (ZMT) in Bremen. For more than a decade, I was immersed in the study of oceans and marine ecosystems, an experience that gave me a deep perspective on the complexity and beauty of the natural world.
However, throughout my scientific career, I felt growing restlessness. I was passionate about science, but I longed for more direct and human contact in my work. I realized that while I enjoyed exploring the natural world, my true calling was helping people navigate their own inner seas. Thus, I decided to make a radical change and follow a new professional direction.
I began this new chapter with a Family Constellations course in the UK, followed by an alternative psychotherapy course in Germany and a master degree in Anthropologically Based Psychotherapy at the University of Salamanca, Spain. Over the years, I have complemented my training with various courses and certifications in areas such as client-centered therapy, couples therapy, artistic and creative therapy, and nonviolent communication, among others. Each of these studies has enriched my practice, allowing me to offer a comprehensive and holistic approach to my clients.
One of the achievements I am most proud of is the creation of the program “Freude Groß, Wut Klein!” (“Big Joy, Little Anger!”) for a primary school in Bremen. This project reflects my interest in improving emotional education from an early age, helping children develop skills to manage their emotions in a healthy way. Working with children and adolescents, especially those with ADHD, has been an incredibly rewarding experience.
Today, I am dedicated to psychological counseling for individuals, couples and relationships, as well as helping people overcome burnout. My journey has taught me that although challenges may seem insurmountable, there is always a path to resilience and well-being. I am grateful to be able to accompany my clients in their difficult moments and to be able to contribute to their personal and emotional growth.
My transition from science to alternative psychotherapy has not only been a career change, but a profound personal transformation. I have learned that true success is not measured only by professional achievements, but by the ability to find and follow our true passion. For me, that passion is helping others find their path to a fuller, more meaningful life. Thank you for joining me on this journey, and I hope to continue sharing and learning with you.
